Diane Collins, our director

"This year marks my 29th year of teaching dance in Los Angeles. I couldn't be more thankful for every year, every student, every friend, every teacher and all the wonderful parents who have been on this journey with me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

Diane Collins, Owner and Artistic Director

Originally from Boston, Diane trained at the Donna Miceli Dance Center of Boston for over 20 years, traveling and performing internationally.  Her training included classical ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance.  Diane also studied with the Boston Ballet and the Jeanette Neill Dance Studio.

After moving to LA, she opened DC Dance LA in Santa Monica as a performance and competitive dance studio for children ages 3 to 18. Ballet is a core component of DC's curriculum at all levels. All company dancers are required to enroll in ballet. Her annual Nutcracker showcases the dancers ballet technique, as well as some contemporary, jazz and modern pieces.

In 2021 Diane relocated DC Dance LA to a 4,000 square foot dance space in Culver City. This new space has created many opportunities for her and her students to perform and explore the world of dance.

Celebrating 25 Years of DC Dance LA in 2020

Hundreds of Miss Diane's family, friends, current and former students, parents and teachers surprised her with an emotionally heartfelt video tribute on the 25th Anniversary of DC Dance LA. This video tells the story of the close-knit, loving and supportive community she has helped foster.
