Children's Class Descriptions Ages 3-9

We offer ballet classes for children as young as 3 years old and more structured Ballet, Tap Hip Hop, Jazz and Acro classes for the more serious students.

Tiny Dancers 

Age 3-4

Girls: Solid color leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers, hair tied back neatly off of face.

Boys: Black cotton pants, t-shirt, ballet slippers

Designed for our youngest dancers, introducing them to movement through musical games, songs and dances.  Our goal is to have FUN while developing large motor skills, listening skills, body awareness and imagination. This class is independent of parent or guardian.

Pre- Ballet 

Ages 4 to 5

Girls: Solid color leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers. hair secured in a bun.  (no bangs)

Boys: Black cotton pants, t-shirt, ballet slippers 

This class develops coordination, listening, and rhythm skills through an introduction to ballet and movement. Children must have a good attention span and be independent of parent or guardian. 

Ballet / Tap I-III

Ages 5-9 

Girls: Solid color leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers & tap shoes, hair tied back neatly (no bangs). Ballet Skirt may be worn.

Boys: Black cotton pants, t-shirt, ballet slippers & tap shoes.

The dancers will study the elementary steps and concepts of ballet and tap. The class is divided into half-hour segments of ballet and tap. No experience required.

Jazz I-IV/ Hip hop/Acro

Ages 5-9

Black or solid color leotard, Dance shorts or leggings hair off the face. Jazz shoes for jazz or hip hop, running shoes for hip hop.

Fitted dance/athletic pants or black leggings may be worn for jazz.

Jazz, Hip Hop, and acro technique in a structured dance environment for the serious student. Emphasis is on strengthening body placement, coordinating body movements, and improving basic steps. Dress code and attendance are enforced to promote the best training. Placement is made at the discretion of the program director.
